The month of October is designated as National Seafood Month.  This is something that the best oyster restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks loves to hear!  One look at our menu clues you in to the fact that we love seafood.  Here are a few reasons that you should be a seafood lover too!

Studies have been done that prove a diet rich in healthy omega-3 fatty acids, which are found in fish, lowers the risk of heart disease and might also help prevent Alzheimer's.  It aids in building cell membranes in the brain, helps control blood clotting, and even aids the body in preventing heart attacks and strokes.  Eating seafood twice a week is the suggested amount to get all of these nutrients that you need.

Fall is an exciting time for sports fans, especially in Missouri.  Not only is football season in full swing, but both of our beloved baseball teams are in the playoffs! You don't have to pick and choose which game is the most important to you when you watch with us.  We have them all, and 28 TVs to watch them on!  Our Lake of the Ozarks restaurant subscribes to the Big 10 Network, SEC Network, and the NFL Sunday Ticket, so we've definitely got football covered.  We'll also be celebrating the Cardinals and the Royals journey to a possible I-70 World Series.  You can watch all of the baseball postseason action right here.

Your Beer Pong Practice Guide

The first of the final three Tuckers Shuckers Beer Pong Tournaments this year is coming up on Wednesday, October 7, 2015.  (Don't worry, the new year will definitely bring new tournaments!)  The best bar on the Bagnell Dam Strip has created a very popular event with these monthly tournaments, and we've given away an incredible amount of cash prizes.  

Before heading over to your favorite restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks to sign up your team, you might want to get in a little bit of practice.  We allow up to 48 teams to enter, so the competition is stiff.  Here are a few tips on how to set up your own practice table at home. 

• Arrange 6 or 10 plastic cups in a pyramid formation on opposite ends of a long table. Fill each of these cups with your liquid of choice, about half full. (If you are worried about making a mess or germs, fill the cups with water and drink from your own individual cup when you have to take a drink.)

• Decide which team of two will be going first. Rock, paper, scissors is perfect for this task, or a coin flip, arm wrestling...whatever you're in to. 

• Each team throws one ball per turn. You want the ball to land in one of the opposite team's cups. You can either toss it in directly or bounce it once on the table. Once it lands in a cup, they have to drink. That cup is then removed and the game continues.

• Once a team loses its last cup, the other team is declared the winner. 

If you want to know the detailed rules that we play by, get yourself on over here on October 7 and we'll walk you through it.  Everything gets started at 8 pm on the second floor.  Registration ends once all of the team spots are filled, so don't be late!  We will also have DJs spinning, promo girls promoting, and lots of great drink specials for you.  That's all in addition to the best oysters at the Lake of the Ozarks, so make sure that you have dinner while you are here too.  

It seems like there was something else that we needed to mention.....
Oh yeah, the prizes!  The top three teams will get a share of $750 in cash!  Now there's some motivation to start practicing.  If you aren't one of the top finishers this time, keep at it.  We'll be doing it all over again on November 25 and December 23.

Join Tuckers Shuckers at the 15th Annual Wing Ding

A very popular annual event for the entire family is happening this week, and your favorite restaurant on the Bagnell Dam Strip is joining in on the fun.  The 15th Annual Lake Ozark Wing Ding is back!  This year you can taste the best wings that this town has to offer from Tuckers Shuckers and 13 other local restaurants while raising money for a great cause.

A ticket gains you entrance into this incredible event where competitors whip up their very best wings, and you can have as many wings as your stomach can hold. There will be a panel of taste-testers voting on this year's coveted "Tastiest Wing," but your vote is important too.  The "People's Choice" is quite an honor. We'll definitely be reaching for that title!

Bikefest is Almost Here!

The best restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks is excited to be a part of the 9th annual Lake of the Ozarks Bikefest September 17th - 20th!  In case you have been living in an oyster for the last decade, here's a little bit about why this is an event that you shouldn't miss, and why our oyster restaurant on the Bagnell Dam Strip is the place to hang out during Bikefest.

2015 Official Passport Stop

That's right, Tucker's Shuckers is an official stop for the 9th annual Lake of the Ozarks Bikefest.  There are over 200 bars and restaurants around the Lake eager to welcome the bikers, but only 24 Official Passport Stops.  Visit each or these, get your passport stamped, then drop it off at the "Official Passport Booth" at the Lake of the Ozarks Harley Davidson Dealership before 3 pm on Sunday, Sept. 20.  One lucky biker will win a 2014 FXSB Softail Breakout!  You can pick up your passports at any participating Bikefest Passport Stop for a suggested $20 donation.

Bikefest Events

There are several events happening all around the lake the weekend of Bikefest 2015.  Notable ones include vendor villages, burn out pits, a riding skill competition course, and sport bike stunt riders.  If that isn't enough, there are also 3 scenic rides to take:  Around the Lake, Ha HA Tonka, and the Devils Elbow.  Maps for these can be found at the Bikefest Lake of the Ozarks website.

Labor Day Begins An Eventful September

Many people are sorely mistaken thinking that Labor Day is the end of the fun in our area.  How wrong they are!  September alone is an incredible month full of excitement at the best restaurant on the Bagnell Dam Strip, and we plan to keep going strong through Fall and beyond.

Hot Summer Nights - Sept. 11

The final, award-winning Hot Summer Nights for 2015 is themed "Vettes for Veterans."  Veterans will be the center of attention this evening, alongside not only Corvettes, but all makes and models of impressive cars, trucks, and motorcycles. The Lake of the Ozarks Corvette Club will host a parade as the event's finale, and each car will have a veteran riding in it.  There will still be all of the same family fun going on that you've come to expect all up and down the Bagnell Dam Strip too.  

Flip Night - Sept. 14

Every Monday from 9 pm - close, bring your quarters to Tuckers Shuckers and get ready to flip for your drink.  We'll toss it up, and if you guess correctly, heads or tails, then you get your drink or shot for that 25 cents!  Guess wrong and you'll pay full price and lose your quarter.  

Lake of the Ozarks Bikefest - Sept. 17-20

September's monthly Bike Night on the Bagnell Dam Strip lands on the first night of this year's Bikefest.  Motorcycle enthusiasts from all over the U.S. will take over the Lake of the Ozarks.  Over 200 bars and restaurants, including Tuckers Shuckers, will participate in this, as well as many local businesses.  We are also one of the 24 Official Passport Stops for the poker run.  The weekend will be filled with scenic rides, stunt riders, concerts, incredible giveaways including 2 motorcycles, vendor villages, and much more.  This is an event that is incredible to both see and participate in.      

Celebrity Bartender Night - Sept. 24

For this special occasion, you will arrive to find a local or regional celebrity slinging drinks behind the bar.  Be kind to them, because all of their tips will be donated to a local charity.
