Oysters & Clam Chowder - Popular Christmas Dishes!

Tuckers Shuckers research discovered something that we were thrilled to find out and excited to share - Oysters and Clam Chowder are very popular dishes to serve on Christmas Eve!  Not only do we have the freshest oysters at the Lake of the Ozarks right here, but we also serve up an incredible, house-made clam chowder that simply can't be beat.

It looks like the tradition of having these seafood treats on Christmas Eve began with Irish immigrants in America in the mid-1800's.  Traditionally, Irish-Catholics would avoid meat the day before their huge, Christmas feast.  The dish of choice was a stew made from the ling fish.  Once it America, ling was difficult to find, but oysters were plentiful.  Thus, oyster stew became the new tradition.  

We aren't quite sure when Americans began eating clam chowder more often than oyster stew, but there are many families today that list that delicious dish as the food that they expect on the table Christmas Eve. That, along with fried oysters seemed to pop up a lot during our research.

Seafood Boil Every Thursday at Tuckers Shuckers!

The best oyster restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks is perfecting yet another delicious taste from the sea.  Thursday, October 22, 2015 begins the first of many incredible Seafood Boil Thursdays!  Tuckers Shuckers is excited to add another delicious event to our lineup of weekly food and drink specials.

It doesn't matter when you get the craving, for lunch or for dinner, because we'll be cooking up this amazing cuisine all day, from the time we open the doors at 11:00 am until the kitchen shuts down for the night.  You just might want to have it for both meals!  

Each serving should feed 2-4 people. This really depends on how much of a seafood lover you are and how well you share! For only $19.99, you will get:

1 pound of crawfish

1/2 pound of shrimp

1/2 pound of andouille sausage

A hefty helping of sweet corn and red potatoes.

Celebrate National Seafood Month at Tuckers Shuckers!

The month of October is designated as National Seafood Month.  This is something that the best oyster restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks loves to hear!  One look at our menu clues you in to the fact that we love seafood.  Here are a few reasons that you should be a seafood lover too!
