Spring is here, which means summer is right around the corner. People often think about eating a bit lighter and a little healthier when this time of year rolls around. Salads are a popular menu item for this kind of eating, and Tuckers Shuckers has the most delicious salads in town. 

The tasty vegetables and crisp greens that we feature here are just the beginning. The best seafood restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks couldn't resist using some of our fresh seafood on a couple of these salads. We offer a wonderful selection of dressings to choose from also: Ranch, Parmesan Peppercorn, Blue Cheese, Honey Dijon Mustard, Italian, Greek, 1000 Island, Caesar, and Fat-Free Raspberry Vinaigrette.

10 Fun Thanksgiving Facts

Your favorite restaurant on the Bagnell Dam Strip will be taking the day off for Thanksgiving to enjoy it with our loved ones.  Not to worry though, because we have tons of fun planned for the weekend following it!  Until then, all of us here at Tuckers Shuckers thought that you might enjoy some fun facts about Thanksgiving that you may not know.  Whip out a few of these at the table Thursday and impress the family.  


#1- A few towns in the U.S.A. have some tasty names that would go great together on a Thanksgiving table:

Turkey, Texas

Turkey, North Carolina

Cranberry, Pennsylvania

Roll, Arizona

Spuds, Florida

Corn, Oklahoma

Pie Town, New Mexico

#2- Female turkeys don't gobble!  They actually make more of a small, chirping noise.  The males are the ones making all of the gobbling noises, trying to attract those quiet females.

#3- To remain safe from predators, turkeys can be found sleeping in trees.  They can also turn their necks for a 360-degree view, so don't try to sneak up on them.  Spook them and they can run at speeds up to 20 miles per hour!  

#4- Canada also celebrates Thanksgiving, but not at the same time we do.  Their celebration takes place on the second Monday of October.  

#5- The first Thanksgiving was celebrated in Plymouth, Massachusetts in 1621, and it lasted three days.

#6- Abraham Lincoln is the president that officially declared the last Thursday in November as the national day for Thanksgiving. 

#7- Benjamin Franklin wanted the turkey to be our national bird.  If that had happened, would be eating eagle on Thanksgiving instead?

#8- The annual Macy's Day Thanksgiving Parade has been going on since 1924, but was originally called the Macy's Christmas Parade to signify the beginning of the holiday shopping season.

#9- Instead of giant balloons, the original Macy's parade featured live animals from the Central Park Zoo.

#10- True meat-lovers may opt for Turducken at their Thanksgiving feast.  This incredible dish originated in Louisiana.  It is made up of a turkey (Tur-) stuffed with a duck (-duck-) which has been stuffed with a chicken (-en)!

The only problem that we have with the traditional Thanksgiving table is the lack of oysters, but I guess we can let that slide for one day of the year.  The best restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks will have plenty of oysters for you to fill up on the day after Thanksgiving.  Don't forget to join us for Beer Pong on Wednesday night before the holiday, our awesome 90's dance party on the Friday after, the singer-songwriter show on Saturday, and of course, football all weekend long!

The best restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks is even better!  We have added a few brand new items to our already incredible menu.  If you haven't been in to Tuckers Shuckers on the Bagnell Dam Strip lately, you're missing out!  We still feature all of your favorite menu items, but now there just may be a new favorite waiting for you.

Top Sirloin Tuesday

Every single Tuesday at Tuckers Shuckers you can get a delicious meal for an awesome price.  We'll serve you up an 8 oz. certified Angus top sirloin steak that has been aged 21 days.  Along with that you'll get a side salad and hot baked potato, all for only $9.99.

Seafood Boil Thursday

Only a few weeks old and it's already a local favorite.  Each and every Thursday we treat you to the best seafood boil at the Lake of the Ozarks all day long.  For only $19.99 you will get 1 pound of crawfish, half a pound of shrimp, half a pound of andouille sausage, red potatoes, and sweet corn.  YUM!  Either come in super hungry or bring a couple of friends along to share it with you.

2015 Lake Stock Fall Crawl - Nov. 7

It's time for another party!  Actually, it's a party every weekend at the best bar on the Bagnell Dam Strip, but this weekend we have a special occasion to go along with it. The Lake Stock Fall Crawl will be traveling all over the Lake area on Saturday night, and Tuckers Shuckers has all of the groovy details for you.

• Wristbands - $10

Your wristband will get you into all of the bars and restaurants that are a part of the Lake Stock Fall Crawl this year, as well as a bus ride to all of them.  As of today, there are 11 stops along the pub crawl route, but more may join the fun.  You can start purchasing wristbands anytime, but they will be available at the door the day of the crawl.  Every venue will have them available for you to purchase.

The BIGGEST Halloween Party at the Lake of the Ozarks!

That's right, we'll say it.  The best bar at the Lake of the Ozarks is hosting the BIGGEST Halloween party that the Bagnell Dam Strip has ever seen!  If you have been to any of our Beer Pong tournaments, then you know the type of excitement and fun that we offer here at Tuckers Shuckers, and those nights will seem boring compared to this!  Sure, we talk big, but look at what we have in store for you this Halloween.

DJ Geefer Sutherland will be spinning tunes on our Music Shop stage all night long, starting at 8 pm.  He is known as one of the premier up-&-coming DJs in Kansas City, and we've got him all to ourselves this Saturday night.  Make sure that whatever costume you choose is well-equipped with dancing shoes!

Seafood Boil Every Thursday at Tuckers Shuckers!

Celebrate National Seafood Month at Tuckers Shuckers!

The month of October is designated as National Seafood Month.  This is something that the best oyster restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks loves to hear!  One look at our menu clues you in to the fact that we love seafood.  Here are a few reasons that you should be a seafood lover too!

Join Tuckers Shuckers at the 15th Annual Wing Ding

A very popular annual event for the entire family is happening this week, and your favorite restaurant on the Bagnell Dam Strip is joining in on the fun.  The 15th Annual Lake Ozark Wing Ding is back!  This year you can taste the best wings that this town has to offer from Tuckers Shuckers and 13 other local restaurants while raising money for a great cause.

A ticket gains you entrance into this incredible event where competitors whip up their very best wings, and you can have as many wings as your stomach can hold. There will be a panel of taste-testers voting on this year's coveted "Tastiest Wing," but your vote is important too.  The "People's Choice" is quite an honor. We'll definitely be reaching for that title!

Labor Day Begins An Eventful September

Many people are sorely mistaken thinking that Labor Day is the end of the fun in our area.  How wrong they are!  September alone is an incredible month full of excitement at the best restaurant on the Bagnell Dam Strip, and we plan to keep going strong through Fall and beyond.

Hot Summer Nights - Sept. 11

The final, award-winning Hot Summer Nights for 2015 is themed "Vettes for Veterans."  Veterans will be the center of attention this evening, alongside not only Corvettes, but all makes and models of impressive cars, trucks, and motorcycles. The Lake of the Ozarks Corvette Club will host a parade as the event's finale, and each car will have a veteran riding in it.  There will still be all of the same family fun going on that you've come to expect all up and down the Bagnell Dam Strip too.  

Flip Night - Sept. 14

Every Monday from 9 pm - close, bring your quarters to Tuckers Shuckers and get ready to flip for your drink.  We'll toss it up, and if you guess correctly, heads or tails, then you get your drink or shot for that 25 cents!  Guess wrong and you'll pay full price and lose your quarter.  

Lake of the Ozarks Bikefest - Sept. 17-20

September's monthly Bike Night on the Bagnell Dam Strip lands on the first night of this year's Bikefest.  Motorcycle enthusiasts from all over the U.S. will take over the Lake of the Ozarks.  Over 200 bars and restaurants, including Tuckers Shuckers, will participate in this, as well as many local businesses.  We are also one of the 24 Official Passport Stops for the poker run.  The weekend will be filled with scenic rides, stunt riders, concerts, incredible giveaways including 2 motorcycles, vendor villages, and much more.  This is an event that is incredible to both see and participate in.      

Celebrity Bartender Night - Sept. 24

For this special occasion, you will arrive to find a local or regional celebrity slinging drinks behind the bar.  Be kind to them, because all of their tips will be donated to a local charity.
